The
TrackingTheTropics.com (Formally HurricaneWarning.net)
site is located in Pensacola, Florida. Here
are some of the hurricanes that I have been
through. My first hurricane was Hurricane
Frederic on September 13, 1979 with
winds of 130 MPH. In 1995 we had two hurricanes
make landfall in the NW Florida area. Hurricane
Erin on August 3rd was a category
1 with winds of 90 MPH. Hurricane
Opal on October 4th was a category
3 with winds of 125 MPH, and then Hurricane
Georges struck near the Florida Panhandle
with a glancing blow on September 27, 1998.
In 2004. Hurricane
Ivan slammed us on September 16,
2004 as a category 3 with winds of 120 MPH.
On July 10, 2005 Hurricane
Dennis struck just East of Us with
120 MPH winds.
